Bertucci's is one of those classic GW restaurants that seems to have been there forever. My friends and I visit Bertucci's often. They have drastically changed their menues over the years and I have tried a variety of different entrees. But I confess, I do have a favorite Bertucci's dish. It's their Shrimp Rossini! I remember the first time I tried it three years ago, I had fallen in love with the combination of shrimp, pasta, capers, and The tomato cream sauce. It was really the sauce that got me hooked and addicted. Even though the dish comes out different every time, it is still one of my favorite dish at Bertucci's.
My friend, on the other hand, ordered an individual Margherita pizza. However, after her order came, she realized that she wasn't really in the mood for pizza. So I convinced her to order something else and bring the pizza home for the next day. In the end, she ordered the Shrimp and Roasted Butternut Squash Risotto from the Chef's Specials menu. The entree came a little later and it looks like something from the diet menu compared to her pizza and my pasta. The risotto tasted good but it was too oily for our liking. I would not recommend this dish to anyone because it is more expensive than my Shrimp Rossini and I don't think you're getting your money's worth out of this dish!
I forgot to mention that Bertucci's, like most Italian restaurants, offeres free bread rolls with olive oil before your meal. The rolls are actually really good if they are right out of the oven. My friend and I go to Bertucci's sometimes just for their rolls!
Even though our experience was not very satisfactory, I would still recommend Bertucci's because it is a sit down restaurant that you can bring your family and friends to without a reservation and still get away with decent services.

I visited this restaurant last Friday with one of my friends. Although the dining hall was fairly small, which is to be expected of any restaurant in DC, the food was delicious. We had the Crispy Spring Roll and Fried Calamari for appetizers. Both selections included some form of the sweet and sour sauce as the dipping sauce and it went well with our fried appetizers.
We ordered Kraprow and Drunken Fried Rice as our entrees. Kraprow is basically Thai stir fry with chili, basil, garlic sauce and your choice of protein. I had mine with shrimp in it. The dish comes with a bowl of white rice. Since it is a stir fry, the sauce is not thick and creamy like the curry. But it is very spicy; it's the kind that gets spicier as you eat. I did expect a bigger portion, if not more shrimp, definitely more vegetables. However, since I already had a fair share of appetizers, I was full when I finished my Kraprow.
My Friend ordered the Drunken Fried Rice, which is Thai Fried Rice including tomato, egg, scallion, plus garlic, bell peppers, fresh basil, and your choice of protein. She ordered chicken in her fried rice. When our entrees were served, the portions of our dishes looks like they are served from two different restaurants. But I should point out that her dish has much more ingredients than mine, so the end results should not be a surprise. I do have to say that the Drunken Fried Rice is a really good way to boost your daily vegetable intake. It also has that spicy kick to make finishing the dish much more enjoyable than a regular fried rice, which becomes tiring after you finished the first half.
When we arrived at the Thai Place Restaurant, it was already 7 pm. Even though they were very busy, we were able to get a table in less than a few minutes. However, it was a table right across the main entrance. It was very cold that night, with all the guests going in and out while leaving the door open during most of our meal time, it was very hard to enjoy our dinner. We did have hot tea while waiting for our appetizers, but they quickly became cold from the outside drift. It would have been nice if there was some sort of heater next to the entrance not only warming the tables next to the door but also those who are waiting for a table.
Overall, even though the environment was not very satisfactory, the food was very delicious for the the price.
